Film Finance

Concorde was first to establish its film fund immediately after the new act on motion picture was passed by the Parliament in 2004, and quickly became a leader in film financing in Hungary. Since 2010, Concorde intermediates funds also for performing arts organisations, and in 2011 started arranging sports sponsorships as well.

Since 2004, Concorde financed more than 200 films and performing arts organisations in the value of approx. HUF 10bn (EUR 35m) and managed sponsorships of more than 30 large and medium-size companies.

Entities and purposes eligible for sponsorships: (i) movies produced in Hungary up to 20% of their local budgets, (ii) performing arts organisations up to 80% of their ticket sales revenues and (iii) teams in five selected sports (football, handball, basketball, ice hockey, water polo) up to 25-90% of their annual sports development budgets depending on the aim of the development programme (e.g. infrastructure, youth education)

The sponsorship reduces the corporate tax base and can also be subtracted from the - already reduced - corporate tax payable. The tax saving achievable is (i) 110% (up to HUF 500m profit before tax) or (ii) 119% (above HUF 500m profit before tax) of the sponsorship.
